Answered Prayers

When I left California and moved to Rexburg to go to BYU-Idaho there were quite a few adjustments that I had to get used to; roommates, snow, living on my own...but there was one adjustment I didn't consider before I left the west coast: In-N-Out burger.
Now I live in Provo, UT. I'm married, have a little boy, and I still have the same problem. No delicious, just-the-right-size burger, yummy milkshake and freshcut fries...

I realize now that I took for granted what my hometown of Fres-yes, CA had to offer. The easy convieience of several In-N-Out locations. This is the place where I had my first date, the place I went to when I was feeling down and desprately needed a chocolate shake. This is the place where we would go during our lunches during my senior year of high school. Of course it was just far enough from my high school that you had to run to your car, hope for an empty drive thru, and eat in the car while driving back to make it in time for 6th period, but it was definately worth it.

Ok, call me ridiculous, or over-dramatic, but if you do you obviously haven't tasted In-N-Out. And if you have tasted it, and you think "it's no big deal" you need to learn to appreciate the amazing things in life.

Finally, after covering the entire state of Cali, and spreading to Arizona, Nevada and southern Utah...our prayers have been answered. In-N-Out is now coming to Draper, West Valley City, American Fork, and Orem. Harrison can now stop pretending to consider my pleas to have him drive me to St. George just for a burger. Now I can have my son grow up in a community that knows good fast food. (granted, he'll be less than two before we leave Utah...but still...)

Dreams can come true.

A word from Jack

This weekend I took my very first road trip to Las Vegas to be with family and friends for my baby blessing. We had lots of fun!!

I hung out with my grandparents
(met g-pa Poulson for the first time!)
Here's my cousin Jacob
I'm so glad the Salways came all the way from Fresno to see us!!
This is Camden who is about 5 months older than me.

I spent lots of time with Aunt Lindsay
Dad gave me a bath
Then we took a nap
Sunday was my blessing. We loved having everyone there!!
Mom dressed me up in this outfit...
which I couldn't decide if I liked it or not...

Look how cute (and uncomfortable)
I look here with Mom and Dad
It was such a fun and exhausting weekend.
I miss my family that loves me so much but it's nice to be home!!

A word from Mom: Thanks to everyone for everything this weekend!! We loved coming home and seeing everyone, and we're glad baby Jack could meet more of his family!! We love you!!

"I can't put my arms down"

I hear that it's best for your baby to sleep wrapped up with his arms down at his side in the blanket. It allows them to calm down, and sleep longer. So far this has worked really well, but lately, baby Jack just won't have it. No matter how tightly I wrap him up this always seems to be the outcome:

Not only does he get his arms out of the blanket, but he likes to keep them above his head. Do you think his little arms fall asleep like this??

Two Weeks Old

Yay!! Our little one is two weeks old today, and I feel like he's already grown so much!!

And no, I am not a mother who spikes the hair of her two week old little boy. His hair loves to stand straight up after a bath...really, it takes several hours for it to calm back down...

2 week stats:

8 lbs. 14 oz. - over a pound more than his birth weight

21 inches - same as birth length

38.5 cm - Head Circumference (although I'm not sure why this is so important...)

Jack is so much fun to have in our home. He really is such a good baby, and hardly ever cries. Unfortunately his days and nights are a little backward but we're working on it :) We're excited to take him to Las Vegas next weekend for his baby blessing and for him to meet the rest of his family!!

It's a dangerous combination to be home all day with the baby and a brand new camera...
