i love the army

Well, the Army has taken Mr. Smith (or should I say Cadet Smith) away from me again. He is at Ft. Lewis, Washington at Leadership Development Advanced Camp until July 16th. I'm trying to stay positive. I just have to say over and over again:

I love the Army...I love the Army...I love the Army...

Did I mention they've taken away their cell phones? There are pay phones available, so for the few minutes of free time they do have, he can wait in line to call me with a maximum talk time of ten minutes. I'm hoping to hear from him at least once a week.

I love the Army...I love the Army...I love the Army...

And it will be back to snail mail for the next month. No email for the Cadets so I have a feeling I will become very good friends with the mailman very quickly.

I love the Army...I love the Army...I love the Army...

Joking/Complaining aside now - I am so grateful for a husband who is so passionate about fighting for our country. He is so patriotic. We live in an incredible nation and it is because of the men and women in uniform that we are so blessed with safety and freedom. I look forward to our life in the Army. It will be difficult, yes. Harrison and I will spend time apart, yes. But will it be worth it? Yes. We have the opportunity to be involved in such a great cause. Of course I miss my husband. But I am so proud of him. I know he will do amazing things. And I am honored to be apart of a future in the military.

I love the Army.

What a sweet post! You are such a supportive wife. I am soooo amazed by military wives because there is no way I would be strong enough. What a great example of devotion (to your hubby and your country). Thanks for serving (both of you!).

My husband has been in the military for the past 8 years. He started off in the Marines and thank goodness I didn't know him when he went through boot camp or I would have died! Stay positive! Although when my husband has to leave for a couple of weeks and it is hard, it is always so much fun to reunite with him again (I still get butterflies in my stomach when I am about to see him again)! He will be back before you know it! Just keep yourself busy.

PS- the military does have it's perks!

Keep it up :) It seriously is such a good cause. You should see if their is a senior couple on the base. My little bro was only allowed regular mail but the senior couple typed up his written letters and we sent it to the branch president and they gave it to them at church. It was a little bit quicker turn around...

Christine! I'm not sure if you remember me... we were in the same ward up at BYU-I right around the time you got engaged, or married, or something. :) Anyway, I just stumbled across your blog and wanted to tell you that I think you have such a cute family! Jack is adorable. Hope you're doing well!
